Looks like we are all clear! I have re-enabled our primary CDN, Imgix, and it's working as it should.

Thanks for your patience today! Wayne

This outage appears to be part of a larger outage involving the Google Cloud. Here is a link (just for the curious) to the Google Cloud Status page for this event.

For the time being, I've switched over to our backup image cdn through Amazon Web Services Cloudfront. Cloudfront is the service we use for static resources like javascript and css files. It can also be used for images, but we lose some of the awesome features of using Imgix.

The images for products should appear, but we just won't have some fine-tuning adjustments like image format, compression, sizing, etc that are all done for us on-the-fly through Imgix. A great example is if you have uploaded a product image that is HUGE, imgix compresses it down to just the size we need which keeps your website loading fast. With Cloudfront- we just have to serve the image as it is, so things appear slower. Images can load slower.

Anecdotally, I'm seeing some weird behaviors from other web services because Google Cloud is just so huge, so hopefully we can just sit tight here and be ok. I'll continue keeping an eye on things.

Our image content delivery network, imgix, is having some issues right now! Some images are not rendering, mostly for products.

Usually imgix is pretty quick on fixing things, so I haven't pulled the trigger on switching to a back-up CDN yet. If you'd like to see the status page for imgix: https://status.imgix.com/

This email is just to let you know that we are aware and monitoring the situation.
